Actually it's still cheap. I don't drink hard liquor but I use it to make tincture of myrrh at home because it's so much cheaper. Anyway I don't go through it very quick but my last batch I made at the beginning of COVID finally ran out and I had to buy another bottle of vodka and it was the EXACT same price for the same brand. Monopolova, it was $20 for the 1.5L bottle. That's the most neutral of the less expensive vodkas.

everyone smoking/vaping now. beer/hard alcohol is now seen as for old depressed divorced dudes. wine is now a joke for single old wine aunts and cat ladies. the "craft" beer fad is over and seen as basedboy tier cringe hobby like playing pokemon go or fantasy football.
and as others said - the people who DID/DO still drink , young people who go to clubs, etc, all got effected with covid and all the shutdowns. many social places shut down and never came back so many normie social drinkers just stopped.

Boozes are scum cocksuckers. I've never met a drunk in my life that didn't deserve to be beaten. They're all narcissists too, drinking makes them even more narcissist.
My parents are lifelong "functional alcoholics" and they're not even human anymore, never were, I didn't even have parents, I might as well have raised myself.
I can't believe how sick & deranged boomers are, all these degenerate behaviors and worthless things they've done and now they try to rationalize no one doing it anymore as some kind of "mistake" or "signs of the economy". Its just unreal.

There is no justifiable reason to use expensive vodka for extracts or (most) infusions. You could obtain the cheapest possible bottom-shelf rotgut vodka, run it through a Brita filter twice or thrice, and secure exactly the same result as spending 3x or 4x more capital on premium vodka.
>>513334516
You know that you smell right? Like people can smell it on you. It’s literally in your bones too.
I know that smell very well, my dad and his friends were all raging alcoholics, I’m talking pounding down a fifth of rot gut bottom shelf whiskey or plastic bottle of vodka a day. They all had that alcoholic smell, like stale produce.
I used to work with dead people a lot, I could smell that smell down to their bones, even inside their bones. Down in their cancellous and marrow.

Yes, I've done it in countless cities in the u.s. just tell them you are a severe alcoholic with history of withdrawal and seizures with withdrawals
If you don't have a history in their hospital system they will usually give you Librium, Ativan or Valium and stabilize you then give you a prescription and discharge you. If you become a frequent flyer, they'll admit you.
If you are just trying to score benzos, read up on alcohol withdrawal symptoms. They are easy as fuck to fake

Okay, I have to call pause flor a minute.
Source: I'm an alcoholic.
You can buy 6% alcohol 710ml's for $1.29. In some areas, this is just as cheap as water, and ALWAYS cheaper than soda or ANY other Liquid.
The inflation argument works for literally any other product to ever exist EXCEPT for alcohol.
Alcohol is the one thing that has disproportionately NOT kept up with inflation.
I can buy a fifth of Vodka for $8. This has nothing to do with "Americans can no longer afford alcohol." This is Israeli Nigger/Pajeet psyop.

Alcohol is cheaper than it has been in years, especially if the objective is merely to get drunk. A liter of good vodka is around 7$, same price as a beer from a restaurant. A liter of cheap fortified wine for niggers (like cisco wine) is 4$. It used to be higher a few years back.
It's that most young people don't consume alcohol, or if they do in extremely sparse quantities. If you only drink a few drinks of whiskey a week a normal bottle of jack daniels will last months and you'll be spending like 50$ a year on alcohol.

Booze at bars is super expensive. My buddy went to Vegas and paid $60 for two drinks at a bar.
In contrast, it's about $15 for a gallon of the cheapest Vodka. I should also tell you why it's so cheap. The Smirnov's vodka plant in Detroit was in Allen Park along I-94, right next to the Lay's potato chip factory. The potatoes rejected for potato chips are perfectly fine to make vodka from, and the vodka plant got their feedstock from Lays. Basically, vodka is made from rejected potatoes, and that's basically someone else's garbage. Just mix it as follows 1/3 vodka, 1/3 water, 1/3 any type of juice (preferably Ocean Spray pomegranate)

Yeah, well for me, I drink with a purpose, to go to bed and get some solid sleep. Going out to a bar is a waste of money and I sure as hell don't need a $10,000 DUI bill. I could ask my wife to be the designated driver, but then she NEVER gets to catch a buzz, and that isn't fair. So, a small bit of vodka is what I do. Not enough to have to wake up and take a piss during the night.
Side note, if you have teenagers in the house, allow them to partake in alcohol once in a while. It's not a big deal. My daughter was having some of MY vodka unbeknownst to me, and trying to hide it by adding water to the jug to cover her tracks. After a few weeks of this, I began to wonder why I was getting so habituated to alcohol and I had to drink more to get the same effect. Well, she was diluting MY booze, and it probably went to about 75% water, 25% vodka in the bottle. I told her IDGAF if she has a drink. It is part of our culture and even Jesus turned water into wine, which suggests alcohol consumption is endorsed by God.
At any rate, I might as well catch a buzz and come back to this thread in 10 minutes to see what people say about this.

I drink, few drinks sometimes for a few days, then nothing for several days.
Alcohol makes me healthier, but only quality stuff. Half the booze takes shortcuts and gives headaches even in small amounts. This is not the alcohol but additives ( which are not on label) and fusil oils.
Good stuff doesn't do that unless you get dehydrated or drink enough to pickle your brain.
Good stuff uses traditional fermentation without crap additives. But determining good stuff takes work because alcohol additives are off label, and some junk is mid or high priced, and some good stuff only mid priced. You can't go just by price.
I am fit in good shape. Someone in different shape or genetics may process differently.
People that don't drink are actualy less healthy than those that drink lightly.
At least white men.
Drinking lightly reduces heart attacks and clears plaques from arteries in healthy fit people.
It helps with metabolizing and clearing certain things in the system dissolving while intoxicated, then clearing out while sober.
Drinking too much or frequently reverses this and causes damage and delayed metabolization.
But alcohol is currently cheap. While the rest of my groceries have skyrocketed, with beef double what it was during covid, alcohol is the same price or even less.
I don't drink out though, everyone has raised prices on everything consumed on location by a lot.

the recipes arent changing, at least for macro.
craft on the other hand, is getting more potent, and hops, being a cousin (so to speak) of cannabis, is actually adding to both the psychoactive experience of drinking the beer, and the results of drinking it, as it also augments digestion a little bit.
easier to get heartburn and headaches with ipas, even if they are relatively low alcohol (5-7 ABV).
been slugging hazies left and right, and the heartburn and whatnot went away over time. you just have to get used to the hops, especially the double/triple dry hopped, and cryo stuff. all the terpenes are way more concentrated.

Americans can't afford to go to bars.
Alcohol from a store isn't much more expensive than it was a pre-COVID. I'm having a beer right now.
But this is taking the edge off and relaxing to some music. Not the same as going out socializing.
Americans don't want to pay $8.00 + tip for a beer at a bar. Certainly not as a regular thing.
Toss in the #metoo movement and everyone recording everything to post online, guys don't want to be caught fumbling any kind of approach with women.
Millennials are old enough now they're starting to reduce alcohol consumption because the hangovers are lasting longer and it's harder to keep the weight off.
Simultaneously, a good chunk of gen-Z never got to experience bars pre-COVID. They never had a chance to even get into the habit.
Also, hookup culture has moved away from the bars. Younger people seem like they're hooking up via apps, discord channels, etc etc. The biggest allure of bars was meeting someone to hook up with or date. Now they're all basically getting to know each other online, then just meeting up for whatever.

YES!!!!!!!!
Been saying this for a while.
Boomers rugged the younger generations on bar culture.
You basically have to live in a city to reliably go out drinking once you're beyond the whole "early 20's go out as a group and one person DD's" phase. You can't be a regular at the bars solo unless you can walk or take cheap public transit to one.
But for boomers, DUIs were less socially frowned upon and legally a slap on the wrist. Today they ruin your life.
That's why there are so many random bars out in the middle of nowhere, and why boomers felt there was no downside to living in a suburb. Boomers used to think nothing of driving to and from bars whenever they wanted to go out drinking. Even millennials did this to some extent in the 2000's.
But now, you basically can't go out unless you're walking distance. Which is the root of the "muh walkable cities" that pol always gripes about. People want a third place, they want to be able to go out and socialize.
I'm not saying you should drink and drive. But boomers had it where a DUI was like a speeding ticket and cops only pulled them over if they were clearly a problem. Now cops deliberately seek it out and getting caught means $10k out of your pocket plus probably losing your job, and not being able to leave your house without help for the better part of a year.

I have had at least 2 24oz tallboys for the last 10 years every night after a hard days work. I used to have 6packs of 7% abv IPA’s but it had me growing tits. The kicker is that 10 years ago that 6 pack was $9 and now it costs me the same amount for 2 tallboys of PBR. Fucking insane, but oh well. I have bloodwork done every year and it always comes back healthy. I go to the gym 3x per week and spend weekends fishing and drinking on my boat. Some people are literally built different.

Weed seems way worse than alcohol socially. I know so many smart people who turned into hermits that didn't do anything with their lives because they just get stoned nonstop.
Alcohol is higher volatility - losing your shit when the booze gets bad can mean burning your relationships, ruining your life. But generally people drinking are extroverted and making social connections, getting laid, developing relationships, going out and meeting people in general.

Even if you don't party in HS, you party in college. Drinking and partying is probably the main driver of kids wanting to go to college out of high school. So it becomes normalized and a big part of their social life.
For those not going to school, more people are never going to be thrusted into that kind of environment.

Nightclub culture is rapidly dying, and bar activities in the US are dropping by substantial amounts. Without incentives like free drinks or perks for repeat customers, plenty of people just stopped going. Since you can't easily hook up with the first drunk 6/10 you meet at a bar because everybody's guard is up thanks to #MeToo, as well as the fact that every single Cold Approach is received as "Creepy" now for people under the age of 40, and also the fact that dating apps have ultimately massacred any form of romantic/sexual interaction that doesn't get filtered explicitly through a dating app, you have a dramatic decrease in men going to any of these environments. Lack of men in these spaces means lack of people buying drinks for strangers to grab their interest, and instead only drinking for themselves and within their own interest range. All of these spaces normally relied on constant parties and big events to fill the space and keep drinks flying off the shelves, but since people aren't filling these spaces every weekend like they used to, the bottles are lasting on the shelves much longer than they used to, which is shown to all adjacent industry elements as "Lower Consumption".
It's really all tied to Tinder, Bumble, and all of these shitty dating apps. Until they're all wiped out, you're going to see these cascading effects routinely getting worse in countless industries ad nauseam.

the whole people on their phones and will record you fumbling your icebreaker/pick-up line thing is a non worry or red herring, in my experience. maybe it depends on the place, but i live between urban and suburban, a few rural bar settings, nobody records things just to ruin you on tiktok.

Sucks that people are broke but it's good they were forced to cut out alcohol. Shit is poison. But rather than financial restrictions, it is bigger than that. Zooms saw the damage and how bloated previous generations of alcoholics became. How broken and pathethic they are. Said whatever that is, no thanks. This is addition by subtraction. Unfortunately socializing, flirting, dating and monogamous relationships are down across the board. Other byproducts of these current times.

>you might not feel wasted but you can still blow way above legal
This.
Most of it's people who drink a lot drive all the time and nothing happens. But they've been driving for a long time where if they were tested, they'd be way over the limit. The limit is basically two drinks by modern alcohol standards. One and a half if you order something like a double IPA.
Average person with a DUI drives 80 times drunk before getting caught. No idea where that comes from but I heard it once and believe it.
Disclaimer: I have a DUI obviously from a few years ago. Rough patch after 2020 and still wasn't used to living in a place where I have to drive to drink outside of my house. 1st DUI is ~10k + a nightmare of bs and stays on your record affecting everything. People are massive hypocrites about it as well. If you get a DUI, suddenly half of everyone you know acts like you're not allowed to ever drink again. The other half quietly admit to you they have multiple of them, especially the older people.
The real killer is in my state you can get a DUI for any amount of alcohol, and a second one is a felony that comes with a minimum jail sentence. So get one and that's it. You're not allowed to drink anymore without everyone (even people you know who drive 10x as shitfaced as you did once) acts like you're a pariah.
The point is the entire dynamic of it is completely different from how boomers had it.

when you get a feel for the process you can chill the bottle to deactivate the yeast and retain some of the sweetness, or else it will keep eating the sugars until it kills itself at the abv it dies at or runs out of sugar. A workaround for this is to just mix in more fruit juice at the end after bottling, it also works as a good primer for carbonisation if that is how you like your drink, or else bring to a low heat before boiling temp to kill the yeast but retain the alcohol.
Your trad way is perfectly fine, it's just more work. Hope it turns out well for you! I'm currently working on my 30 liters of beer, I should be through it just in time for making some mead over the summer.

Talking about working with dead people and being able to smell the alcoholic smell all the way down to their rotted mushy cancellous, which is all yellow, fatty, and mushy from alcohol consumption. A healthy young person will have hard cancellous and good firm muscle (like a good steak), past 50 bone starts getting a bit mushy (especially in women, women’s bones are very fragile) and the muscle tends to be stringy (like over tenderized pork), but alcoholics don’t have healthy bones or muscle tissue regardless of age and it becomes more pronounced over time.

Nah, alcohol and smoking just doesn't happen anymore. Zoomers don't have sex, don't drink, don't smoke. But ironically gym activity is through the roof.
>gym attendance and membership numbers have generally increased compared to pre-pandemic levels, with some studies indicating nearly double the usage. Gen Z is notably driving this trend, with a significant rise in gym visits and memberships
It's really quite interesting.

Can’t even imagine what it’s doing to your brain.
Don’t get me wrong, I drink, but I limit it to 2 beers a day max and maintain a low tolerance due to physical fitness and low bf%. You need to get in better shape dude.

Ironically my father drank like that for about 20 years, quit one day, and is still extremely healthy.
I don’t know why but some people can just handle it. Not me, I literally get respiratory infections if I drink too much.

Ok, and I’m my father’s son and I can’t handle that. Just because your ancestors may have doesn’t mean you can.
You should stop because your brain is short circuiting and your muscle tissue is tenderized to the point of weakness.

>Americans don't want to pay $8.00 + tip for a beer at a bar. Certainly not as a regular thing.
This. GF has complained for a month or more that
>we don't go out as much
Lady, every time we go out to the bars it costs me $100+tip. AND I have to drive us home. So, despite me being an introvert, I have to be uncomfortable and overstimulated the entire night beyond guarding your drink and watching your back the whole time. I have to stay sober enough to get us both home safely in spite of increased violent crime due to "immigration". Literally the last time we went downtown there was a shooting no more than a block from us that resulted in fatality. Usual suspects of course. Goddamnit. I never used to be racist by I fucking hate Chicago nigs. At least back in the day the Mafia came up to my town to lay low and not cause trouble.

This. Lost my business because of COVID lockdowns. A business that relied on social interaction. Almost made it through it all but too little too late. Rampant fraud, regional/national corps taking in millions in PPE, ended us. If I had 6 more months I would still be in business and thriving. Fuck the plandemic.

This is true. To an extent. Before "modern days" if you wanted to know who your real friends were you gave up drinking. Now zoomers and early Gen A have realized that only degenerates and preds rely on booze culture to fuel their own self esteem.
>if you don't drink and you still have a solid network of friends then they're true friends
>if you quit drinking and none of your friends want to hang out with you then they're not true friends
That's as basic as it goes.

The bible says many times to drink. And there are plenty of religions where people drink. Any amount of alcohol is harmful, not just getting drunk.

It doesn't mean the economy doesn't blow but not my problem and can't be me. For starters I don't routinely buy alcohol at all. I also
>don't have rotten crotch fruit dragging me down
>never buy anything on credit
>didn't go to (((COLLEGE))) and thus owe nothing on that
>don't drive, so none of the expenses based on that
>don't rent anymore, I own my house in full; no mortgage
>don't buy software or entertainment; no goyflix or any streaming services... not that I watch new content anyway, but certainly won't pay for it if I do
>live in a small/cheap city in the middle of nowhere
>pretty much never go out to eat or DoorDash (ISHYGDDT), preferring to cook or otherwise buy cheap produce/snacks
>haven't gotten married (yet) so I'm not alimony-raped
I seem to have avoided every Jewish trap. Neat. I just sock away every dollar from my fairly easy job and I'm fairly entertained. It'll be a long time til they fuck up things long enough to affect me. If you're the opposite of 2 or more of the above and aren't middle-high class or better; sorry, you're fucked and it'll only get worse. It sucks that you have to be a freak to live now but that's the cage they've built.

Magnesium deficiency causes the shaking and is caused by alcohol consumption. Take a magnesium tab with every meal until you start having watery shits and you will get better.
I could drink a half a handle a night and not get hung over thanks to that trick.

Nobody can afford groceries and housing, what makes you think they can afford alcohol? Trump the pedophile rapist owes everyone a $5000 DOGE cheque. There's a literal bounty on his head and nobody's doing shit. Everyone's just waiting for scraps from a pedophile rapist instead of seizing the means of production and the banks.
