Hello everyone, I hope this is easy to understand because I am from the future and our syntax has changed. Probably the English language (or Glish as it is known in our time) sounds as different in our time to you as Abraham Lincoln speaking might.

I'm visiting after some temporal experiments by someone you might Professor Kakuchi-Steyn but we call him Doctor-Steev in our time. He is in some respects a celebrity-professional in our sphere.

I arrived much earlier but due to problems with the experiment I was effectively locked out of fully transferring to the targeted position in space time for about twenty six years. The goal was 1999 because that was as far back as we could send inter dimensional probes to plot our path back. I was fortunate to have been in biological stasis during this time and emerged unharmed, if a little disoriented when my craft unlocked the frequency for me to positioned here.

Better late than never. I cannot tell you much about your own socio political culture as this is a somewhat grey area for us in terms of knowledge. But I can tell you about the next few hundred years and the last couple of hundred in my own time.

My craft phased out soon after I left it so I am stuck here, eking out an existence. This means, Feds, that the only "equipment" left on me are now dormant language and learning viruses and cutlery I had in my pocket from my craft, so don't bother.

So far I have worked at a cattle station and a pub. I like beer very much. AMA. Picrel is one of my favourite things I now know about the past.

A large portion of humanity lives in cantons or covenant communities off Earth. The most common and useful craft for us are asteroids. With Mercury, you pretty much have to build some kind of moving habitat. Compared to all other methods, a rail system kinda makes the most sense; wheels and caterpillar tracks would have to stop for maintenance, but a train could feasibly be built so some bogie wheels could lift for servicing mid-travel.
