Modern cars are all trash, that's why. They're all slow, boring, jellybean-shaped mom-mobile crossovers that explode into a million plastic shards if you sneeze on them because of increasingly strict safety and environmental regulations. I used to think owning a fast car was rather rare, and then I got one... but then realized your slightly above average sport sedan in todays world has more power and performance than almost all sports cars in the 80s and 90s with a few exceptions, so my "fast car" wasn't really that fast.

I remember as a teen learning about the sledgehammer corvette project and it had like almost 900hp, and it could go 250mph on the road, it blew my mind, nowadays that's rather normal.
So it's not like men don't like fast cars, it's that they are normal.

It appears your flag is a meme.
If you're truely Southern, you'd know most everyone down here has a quick car or truck and they want to race all the time.
Also, today's cars and trucks are the most powerful ever. My wife's 10 year old Coyote Mustang made almost 450hp and over 400 lb-ft of torque. That's as powerful if not more powerful that the top muscle cars in the late 60's.
We traded the Mustang for an Explorer ST and that can still get to 60 in the 5 second range... with three rows of seats!
Even if modern cars are shitty and too expensive, we're in a great era of fast cars.

Nissan no longer makes a GTR, the NSX was long discontinued by Acura, the Supra is a shadow of its former self, Dodge has stopped making the Challenger, the Camaro is either discontinued or being discontinued. Your choices are basically faggy overrated European sports cars, a Corvette that costs $100k to $300k or a Mustang.

Because fast cars are inaccessible for a lot of people now.
A new v8 mustang which was supposed to be an entry level fast car is now like $40k starting. Sure you can buy an old fast car but your average person doesn't always have access or ability to work on them and paying someone else to can get very expensive.
Also in the boomer days girls were impressed if you were a guy with a cool car, now girls are impressed by other things like how many followers you have on social media.

Also most people never get to experience a fast car properly. It's like having your own roller coaster but when all you've ever known are boring mundane hybrid crossovers you think all cars are just that + a little more speed.

Even ND miatas are like $30k now if you get one new. In the 90s they were so cheap they were pretty much disposable. But because they were so cheap they've all been turned into racecars and crashed or stanced out by zoomer drift faggots so a decent NA is almost $10k lmao.
The old good used cars die over time and nothing good is there to replace them so eventually good cars will simply be extinct and if you want something fun you'll be paying out the ass or learning to weld.

What a stupid question and a stupid thread.
The fast cars people want are fast cars people can't afford.
Forget Bugatti, that's a German fat version of the real deal.
Koenigsegg. The whole marque.
Aston Martin Valkyrie.
Both media and automotive manufacturers put most of their resources in fastish cars people can afford for the longest time since that's what automotive could actually manufacture.
With advances in tech and increased regulations, they shifted focus on more exotic designs and figurehead cars, but by proxy that means the media shifted focus too, if only because those cars are cooler than a slightly hot Mustang.
As a result of over 2 decades of this development taking place, the middle class of motoring has ceased to exist.
It's not just that everything's moving to EV. An entire class of vehicle, the hot hatch, the hot sedan, the tunable sedan/coupΓ© has ceased to exist.
Now all there are are little 1L citycrossing hatchbacks, SUVs with shit seating, SUVs with good seating and off-road, pickups, and EV versions of legacy brands... and the MX-5.
But guys still want a hot stang. The market didn't die, the suppliers simply changed direction away from it.

The CT4 is in reality just a mini version of the CT6 which was decidedly a large luxury performance sedan though. By the way, $64k is the starting price. That’s the most absolute basic bare bones V-series in a tiny fucking sedan with no trim add ons or anything, which in a Cadillac is kind of dumb. I’ve actually driven the CT4 and found it too tiny, too tiny to be a great sedan and not quick enough to be a great sports car. The CT5 is even a little too small. The CT6 was the best one.

Speeding tickets, wear and tear, gas consumption, and being good at math. There is no reason to go fast. Anything within town and the speed gain is negligible. Long periods of high speed on the freeway can decrease travel time, but also expose you to a longer period of potential infraction.

No but I think it’s warranted in a Cadillac lol. If you want to consider the CT4 a drivers car go ahead but it’s still Cadillac. I want all the bells and whistles personally. But anyway, the real issue is size. I don’t know if you’ve ever driven a CT4 but it’s fucking tiny. The backseat is nearly useless and the cabin is rather cramped for a sedan. I also just don’t like the look and feel. In my mind, a Cadillac should be big with a big engine and luxurious. It feels better that way, it looks better that way. The CT4 is a cool car. It’s just not something I’d buy. Apparently they still sell the CT6 in China, just not in America.

Part of me wants to find like an old Volvo wagon. I know these are prime niggermobiles but fuck at least they aren't soft marshmallow jellybean fagpods like every car coming out nowadays. To my understanding a lot of the old wagons are RWD and have deceptively powerful engines, too.

>drive into other cars/people, they die
>drive anywhere, planet dies
>clog up the roads driving for leisure, meaning people who actually need to get somewhere are late - everyone wishes you die
>wake people up at all hours revving engines - everyone wishes you die
>endless money pit, get in debt and wish to die

The speed is still exciting because they are unrefined. If you go 50mph, it feels like you're going 70mph in a modern car.

They're taller and heavier than just regular cars, which is bad for fuel economy.

The novelty of a cool car wears off pretty quick. The interior of a car's the only part that matters much to me these days, given you spend most of your time there, and even then it's largely unnecessary bells and whistles.
