Because multiple parties have such a great track record, right? Maybe not. Excluding de facto one party states with a single dominant party, I can't think of a single country with multiple political parties that hasn't destroyed it's own homogeneity - it's own people - in order to maintain power. That's because multiparty states devolve into a struggle to maintain electoral dominance, rather than actually fix any problems or improve the lives of it's people.
