Free breakfast at my school was a piece of fruit, doughnut and a milk,juice or water. Never saw those that got it ever eat the piece of fruit and the school eventually stopped offering chocolate milk because the kids kept trying to sell/trade for soda.

I was poor after my parents divorced so I qualified for free breakfast and lunch at my high school but I only ever took the lunch. Back then you could get feee breakfast, lunch, and a snack but it was mostly just a way for trash parents to have the taxpayer pay for their kid. Between their SNAP and Wic benefits, the school food, Catholic social services charity, and all the other shit, they were pretty much profiting off the kids and then spending it all on dope.

I agree that food is important for growing up and being competent in school but they feed them the cheapest, most disgusting slop possible. I have oats for breakfast. 700 calories, costs me less than $1 including the milk.
Lunch can get more expensive but you can still put together a sandwhich and piece of fruit for less than $3.
If school lunch is part of your culture then whatever. I still think it is weird as fuck but not gonna judge.
But school breakfast? There is no justification for introducing this. The only kids this helps are ones who already aren't getting breakfast at home in which case their parents should be criminally prosecuted for neglect. The kid can then get fed at their foster home or grandparents house or whatever.
