Low marriage rates and the prevalence of a culture of frustration
I think the bad economy and declining marriage rates are causing a large number of young people to become extremely depressed and sad.
The young male population in particular is realizing that no matter how hard they work, they are not going to get a good life. He or she will never be able to afford a house, get married, or get children of their own in their lifetime. No offspring, no future, and no hope.
This led to a culture of frustration that originated in Japan and became popular all over the world.
Young people are escaping from reality, working low-paying jobs that can only sustain a basic life, and becoming addicted to the internet, anime, and video games. No They no longer work hard for a better life like their parents did.
Because it's useless to work hard, it's better to live a happy life alone.
