Alternate History Brainstorm.
An idea for a fictional country where the Itičuyu exists. Essentially the New World Equivalent of the Bosporan Kingdom of Crimea in Baja California Sur. Founded by descendants of Inca, Aztec and Indigenous Guaycura/Pericue peoples. Much like how the Bosporan Kingdom was founded by Thracians, Greeks and Scythians. This is the banner they have representing the Inca and Aztec heritage of the State. Eventually Ititlatulli which was the Common Dialect of Nahuatl with Classic Nahuatl, Classic Quechua and Guaycura influences became Official in Glyph Writing.

As you can see, čuyu corresponds to suyu in Quechua but Ititlatulli lacks the s or sh sound as a result of Guaycura influence. Also has the Classical Quechua three a i u vowel system.

They did but the Aztecs had the doctrine of no killing warriors meant for sacrifice. Incas had a good one but all roads led to Cuzco. In this alternate history the Moors and Spanish reached a stalemate so Colonisation didn't happen until much later. Itičuyu preserved it's independence like Thailand did through the Pearl Trade for guns with the French.

Tezcatilatlalli

We be a pretty accurate name for what you are describing. If you were going to go with Aztec etymology and mythology.

The Itih derive their name from the Guaycura word Ete meaning Person. These people can't be described as fully Aztec in the true sense any longer. No more than Pipils from El Salvador.

Essentially Itičuyu means "Human Country" or "Person Region".
