Are bank robberies slowly becoming a crime of the past? I feel like they hit their peak back in the 90's and they've slowly dwindled over time as security tightened up.

you gotta be dumb to rob a random bank really
maybe its okay if youre going for a really big score but just the local chase? youre retarded
you could just sneak into a factory and upload some ransomware and make if with way more than you would from most banks, way less chance of getting caught too

Too much fucking work, you have to do months of planning with professionals and even then there's too many variables that can send you to decades of prison time. Easier to bust open a laundromat for some quick pocket money.

They already have been obsolete for decades now. It's impossible to *ROB* a bank now unless you just want a hundred bucks by passing a note to the teller. Checks cashed places sometimes have several hundred thousands of dollars on hand and have zero security. Everyone started robbing those instead.
Everyone too smart to rob banks just went into crypto/shitcoin scamming in various ways, and made out with more money than any armed robber could have ever dreamed of.

Cash is dying out, and security has improved. Fraud has increased. In terms of cash robbery, I think people primarily target ATM's now (pull them out of the wall or blow them up) and to a lesser extent vans / holding centres

Literally no point. The amount of cameras and security features makes getting away with it and what you do get is never worth the risk. You will be better off robbing an illegal spick outside of Home Depot who carries around wads of cash.

I've always thought nowadays if you want to rob a bank you pretty much have to do it with family or close friends. Ain't no way you're going to do with some rando you met off the streets. Its the equivalent of almost planning a military operation.
>attendees (potential hostages if shit gets bad)
>CCTV
>Security guards
>Entrance
>Escape routes
>Cooling down period ( do you think its harder to rob the bank or successfully stay hidden and keep the money?)
But I Imagine it would be fairly easy to do in the US especially in the rural areas where there's practically no massive police presence. Like if you're really good at it you can just hop from town to town on the highway/interstate between obscure middle of nowhere communities in the midwest.

It’s so easy to rob a bank. Give a note to the teller you are robbing the bank. They give you money without a fight. Then they either find you from security cameras and other forensic information or they find you based on the money’s serial numbers because they handed you the money that’s marked and tracked.

Banks don't keep any noteworthy amount of money in them anymore, and the ones that do have it impossibly locked away. Criminals just hit checks cashed places now because of how fucking easy it is.
>run in
>no security, probably just one fat mexican bitch behind the counter
>get behind counter
>fill bags with the hundreds of thousands of dollars in the safe that isn't even timelocked
>tie down teller
>leave
This shit happens daily here because of how easy it is, and all of these predatory checks cashed places don't care to put in better security because they're all jews and insured out the ass and can just hire another random beaner for minimum wage if one gets shot in a robbery.

Police leave rape test kits sitting in storage for decades and do literally nothing about burglaries that already happened. Forensics aren't getting involved in a "robbery" where you walk out with $200. Most banks won't even bother calling the fucking cops over that.

Just look up where they live and ask for the safety boxes with gold.
You can't just show up in a bank expecting things, you have to start at the wagie's home.
Or you could raid a shitskin stashhouse before it's picked up to the laundromat, they may have more cash (but you might have to commit murder).

Banks literally have no money anymore, so there is no reason to rob them. Best thing a bank wagie can do is give you a plastic card that can get 500€ from the ATM.

Also "bank robbery" at least here in Germany is a crime that gives you 5 years minimum. Imagine going to prison for 5 years for some hundreds euros when you can just scam the jobcenter and make thousands of euros per month and dont have to fear about prison time...

Being a brief bank-fag myself and this was the most jarring thing to me, that banks basically are constantly cycling money out of the bank and keeping virtually nothing in the safe. It was extremely funny during the beginning of COVID when some people tried to do a bank run only to be told that they were not getting any cash, to check another bank, or to accept a check.

No, they actually still happen a lot in cities.
At actual bank locations, it's more like a junky walks in with a note. Policy is to hand them the money. Then they get caught a few hours later, but manage to get their high in first.

What's surprisingly common is armored truck robberies and blowing up ATMs.
Armored truck robberies usually involve actual shootouts and they happen a lot.
You just don't hear of it on national news because you can guess who the culprit is.

We live in the digital age and money has serial numbers. They 100% can trace every dollar you stole. That and it’s a federal crime unlike robbing a jewelry store, so you’ll have the FBI up your ass which makes harder even if you can somehow wash the money without the serial numbers pinging the system.
