I have all the correct things, I succeeded out of necessity yet the reality is still there, a mechanical world, with mechanical people who deceive and fight for power. I'm well aware by gf is banked on me out of me being the best option, it's not the spiritual love we're sold, there's always a machine below the surface. It's tiring, it would be easy to manipulate the predictable nature of people to gain power but what's the goal? Is there actually any fucking point? We live in a glorified resource acquisition game, it's the gayest shit you could come up with, some people have genetic weaknesses etc which makes it harder, but even if you have the advantages, you just have more means of interfacing with an utterly meaningless world. This is a genuine political post, the answers, if anyone has them are probably important. It just seems to me that the entire culture is people reaching for the answers and never finding them.

Yup. The world is just a giant tournament where random luck of the universe awards certain players inherent advantages, and we shamelessly latch onto these players and/or try to beat them in hopes of acquiring resources of our own. Some smug people will say "hah filtered, you're just weak". But even if you have the very best genetics, what's the point when society selects for ruthless competition? Eventually our civilization will be completely devoid of empathy, cooperation, and trust. And there is no upper cap to any of it; there is no point where you achieve "ultimate genetics" that ends the tournament. The cycle of suffering will always be around. I'm convinced a realm with limited resources like ours is inherently evil.

It sucks doesn't it. It's either becoming a hedonistic animal and enjoying the material as much as you can until you drop dead or getting into a cult that promises you stuff after you die so you behave like a good slave and don't cause trouble to the rest.
Even the pursuit of knowledge gets boring once you realize how fucked science actually is and how 80% of what you think you know is bullshit to some extent and probably useless.
People tend to just repress the void, but you and me stared at it, and did so long enough for it to stare back. Once that happens it just permeates and slowly darkens everything around you. All the philosophers got it wrong searching for that "truth" or "enlightenement", they thought it is like a mythical experience full of light and warmth, when in reality it's just a click that makes you see the reality of life, and it's fucking cold.
I don't know how to help you OP. I just wanted to let you know you're not the only one in this dark corner of reality. Good thing is we have whisky. It doesn't make it disappear, but it warms you up inside.
