As recently as 2016 this town was safe and nice.

Oregon, Washington, and northern California are the most beautiful places to live because of all the trees and mountains and lakes and stuff. maybe Colorado too. I think i'd rather be homeless in Northern California than afford a place to live in the midwest or southwest, and i think that's what a lot of homeless people in california think too, that's probably why there are so many homeless people in california
if you just want cheap housing and low cost of living, then there's Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, basically all of the midwest but there's nothing fucking there, it's boring as shit and not a lot of job opportunities
