Because of Canada's immigration system, it offered citizenship / longterm visas if you paid $$$ (btw Drumpf just implemented the same system where you can pay $$$ for green cards). Lots of wealthy Chinese took advantage of this & then China noticed this happening & stopped it. Meanwhile poorer or middle-class Chinese stopped coming into Canada (or the US) long ago because CHINA is wealthier now and their country is SUPERIOR to the West now or there are cheaper / more lucrative opportunies elsewhere like Latin America or Africa. So in terms of Chinese immigration to the US/Canada, it has slowed down tremendously if you compare it to just 10-20 yrs ago.

In order to fund white boomer's lifestyle & social welfare programs, Canada had to look elsewhere and that place was India. The same problems occur in every Western nation like the US where they did the same except with Mexicans.
