unironically a good move
Ukraine knows that Trump needs some way to end this war because a) he promised to do it, b) he knows he might get a nobel peace prize if he brokers the deal, and c) he needs something to distract from the epstein files
they're coming to the table strong with a deal that's totally unreasonable. If they hold out, they can probably get NATO membership in exchange for what's been captured in the donbas and luhansk.

russia didn't kick anyone's ass, they were so fucking retarded that their "special military operation" got stuck in the mud doing trench warfare against effectively the most backwater nation in europe
they spent a month building up shit at their border, spooking all of europe, then sent like 20 helicopters armed with unguided rockets to try to take hostomel and almost all of the VDV aboard were almost immediately killed upon getting to their destination

Zelenskike is trying to placate the NAFO tranny fanboys so they don't do a mass suicide when it becomes official that Ukraine has lost the war.

He is saying one thing, but everyone over 80 IQ knows that the only way this is going to end is Ukraine surrendering the already captured regions.

Zelensky didn't help himself at all yesterday. He wasn't going to get Crimea or NATO no matter what, but now the US will not support any possible concessions of any kind in return for that.

my main point is that Russia is supposed to be the third major power in the triumvirate of NATO-China-Russia, all of whom maintain a tense detente because each can deal a mortal blow to another

no it wasn't, putin attacked to "denazify" the DPR and LPR on the justification that "there are ethnic russians there who want above all else to join russia, and ukrainian nazis are genociding them"
it was framed as a humanitarian peacekeeping mission

Russia came in with the ENTIRE donetsk and luhansk regions, which is fucking huge. this will probably end with the conflict frozen and the currently captured territories given to russia with ukraine joining NATO or with a military agreement that the US has a base there

Air force and army are two different things.
We're talking about army.
The point is that shills always try to downplay the military strength of Ukraine and pretend that billions dollars weren't spent to train and build them up prior to the war, acting as if Ukrainian is the equivalent of Romania or something. It's ridiculous propaganda.

That narrative doesn't make any sense.Who exactly is supposedly training Ukraine's soldiers and officers other than NATO, NATO advisors, and Ukrainians trained by NATO?

>Ukraine is pretty much back to Soviet tactics at this point.
Ukraine is back to "Soviet tactics" (they're not, they're pioneering entirely new approaches to modern warfare) because the NATO model of warfare is detached from reality and doesn't actually function in a true high intensity attrition environment where the enemy can actually destroy your equipment.

I doubt there'll be a US base in Ukraine. Under Biden or Obama, yeah, the US might have been stupid enough to try that. Russia will not accept Ukraine membership in NATO. They have repeatedly stated that they consider that to be an existential threat and will go to war over it. They may accept some other security arrangement to get the deal done, but without any Article 5-type protections for Ukraine.

You're right. The eastern provinces are a windfall for Russia. It basically leaves Ukraine as an agrarian society and raw materials mine for the West, and makes a major contribution to Russia's industrial base.

We don't have to give them the same thing. They're talking about giving tomahawks, for instance. Then, and new set of strategic targets open up. Russia can't stop fiber optic drones, so we could give them a couple of billion dollars worth of those. Give them more aircraft. give them more everything. They don't hardly even use ATACMS any more, because they don't have them. We could flood them with those. Russia's only taken an additional 1% off Ukraine. And look at all off their deaths. We could grind them down to nothing. They can't ever take Ukraine. Bog them down and flood Ukraine with enough missiles to destroy every oil refinery in Russia. We are not even close to being in a war economy. Russia is, and is maxed out. We could turn the screws.

There was another exchange of bodies today. 19 Russians for 1000 Ukrainians. But keep posting your memeflag fantasies. By the way, the EU has already ran through their entire supply of Storm Shadows. The US has only 6000 ATACMS, half of which aren't even owned by the US military, and half of the other half are in Asia-Pacific region. Ukraine has received hundreds, which is about as much as the US can spare before supplies run too low. You talk about giving them more of everything as if any of that stuff exists. NATO has already emptied out everything they have. The US has lost 75% of its entire Stinger stockpile, 50% of it's M777 howitzers, 50% of its entire stockpile of Javelins. The entire global 155mm shell stockpile has ran out. Germany has no Marders left, no Leopard 2's. The UK has sent and lost all of their AS-90 self-propelled howitzers. Eastern bloc countries have no more airforce (all sent to Ukraine and lost). Most Patriots are now gone, all IRIS-T's are gone. Poland lost its entire pre-war tank force of modernized T-72's. Even US THAAD supplies fell by 33% since the Iran conflict.
