I feel utterly doomed
Political because I can't be the only person feeling this way, and while some of this is a consequence of my actions and decisions, most of it is a result of clown world. I am broke, permanently disabled, and in debt. I have a business thats flat but that I can't give up on. I need to turn my life around and have taken some steps to do so by becoming completely sober and by turning to God. For those who have been down and out before and made it out on top - how did you do it? Support and success stories welcome. Feel free to shit on me too. Mods - please don't delete this. I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!

I never gave up on getting a job and a bitch, I took extreme measures in order to do so. I won in spite of not being chad. The truth of the blackpill is that it all costs far more than it should but it can be done.

I would be in your boat if it werenโ€™t for the 120something bitcoin I still have from the Silk Road days, (used to have 10k+ but sold them to pay for college)
And my extremely comfy big pharma job I got because I knew someone. It pays for life and expenses while still squirming some away.

But it is fucking rotten out there. If I could do it over again obviously Iโ€™d hold onto my bitcoin, but also Iโ€™d be a drug dealer in the sf Bay Area. Catering to Silicon Valley types with reliable non scary approaches. I look like one of them

Hard drives (HDDs): average lifespan 5-10 years. Vulnerable to drops, power surges, mechanical failure, and moisture/mold.

Solid state drives (SSDs): generally 10-15 years if powered and used, but unpowered NAND can start losing data in as little as 5-10 years.

USB/thumb drives: consumer-grade flash storage,
similar to SSDs, but often less reliable. Not recommended for long-term archival - failure can occur unpredictably.

Burned DVDs (standard, not archival M-DISC/Blu-ray): if stored properly (cool, dark, low humidity, minimal handling), can last 20-50 years. They are inexpensive, widely available, and don't rely on continuous power.

Cost factor: DVDs are far cheaper per copy than HDDs or SSDs. While cost per gigabyte is higher, redundancy is easy - multiple discs can be burned and stored in different locations for very little money.

Reliability edge: HDDs and SSDs fail all at once if the device dies, everything on it is lost. With DVDs, failure is usually limited to a single disc, and the rest remain readable.

Best practice: burn multiple DVD copies, label clearly, and store them in separate, cool, dry places. Refresh (reburn) every few decades if the data matters.

I cut my failing business off and went back to the sacraments of the Catholic Church. Is my life better now? Not really. Is the management of the Church less of a clusterfuck? No itโ€™s Rome and will always be a clusterfuck.

However the grace I receive from Jesus Christ through His sacraments and the unfathomably based priests I have met have totally made up for it.

thanks. I'm also a cantor at a catholic church and besides the extra cash, I've found great comfort in doing it. I'm a lukewarm protestant (baptized, but not confirmed) and feel more and more called to catholicism.

Think about it Trump , Economic Distress, shifting of white to blue collar work, the advent of AI bubble, and best of all COVID vax is actually a eugenic IQ test, all of these will be present for years. Use this shake up for your benefit. There is no need for hope we just need to get ours and survive. Wrong state wrong people
