True nationalism in 2025 is defined by ideas and way of life. The russian "way of life" is endless corruption, brutality, oppression, and crime. Whereas Ukrainians have rejected this way of life and to join the free democratic world.

Something like 5 million Ukrainians fought in the Red Army against the Nazis during WW2. There was no animosity as they were essentially part of the same country from USSR days back to Tsarist Russia days.

Ethnicity and nationality are always partially socially constructed. The majority of Ukrainians think they are a separate people and have their own identity and history that is separate from Russia. So who are we to argue otherwise?

The mentality that China and Russia have toward people who don’t want to be incorporated into their country is backwards. Russia should just be friendly towards other Slavic nations. Rather than try to invade them and incorporate them into Russia.

Because USSR was doing what it could to exterminate every single non-Asiatic culture withing it. Russian language got almost completely destroyed and replaced with soviet russian. Ukrainian has nothing to do with it at all.

Yes I am aware of the whole thing. I remember when it happened too. The democratically elected government had become unpopular and there was a revolution that removed it, which yes this revolution was supported by the western powers. But it’s undeniable it also had massive popular support.

Yes, most Ukrainians are just country bumpkin farmer Russians. The far West of Ukraine are Galicians and have a separate ethnic identity though. That's where most of the Azov types come from.

There are Russian speakers in Western Ukraine. Zelensky himself is a fluent Russian speaker. Azov was actually founded by Jewish oligarchs like Kolomoisky who would hire street hooligan Nazi-larpers as their private militias.

The Nazi branding was acceptable because it was a way for Jewish oligarchs to intimidate other Jewish oligarchs with their pet "Nazi" militias. It then later became acceptable because it was a method for trolling and provoking conflict with Russia.
