I wish I could move around within my company. These days companies refuse to train employees for a role. They want you to know everything and be ready on day 1.

Co-worker announced he was stepping down as his role of manager. I been in my role for 20 years, past over by 2 different guys I helped on board and train. Never talked to or offered anything but after seeing my boss have to go through multiple hr meetings with a crazy ass girl co-worker to deal with emotional intelligence, I don't want that job because I would of told them to fuck off long ago. Hey you want tons of responsibility for pay that is still like 50k below what you should be getting? No thanks.

My ground-level position is cozy and pays enough for me to live off.
Why would I seek additional responsibilities outside of my home that would take away from the time I spend with my kids?
Maybe when they move out I'll seek those positions out.

i just put in my 2 week notice. i can't do it anymore. i work with all women- i am the only male in our groupd of several departments. i can't do it anymore. women are fucking insane and will burn the world down just to spite you. they are impossible to worm with, especially when you get a bunch of them together. i will never work with women like this again. from now on, i know that if there is a woman in the workplace, to ignore her and only interact when absolutely necessary. i hate them so fucking much now. this has been absolute hell. modern women have lost their fucking minds.

I'm in the same exact position. I've been floundering for 10 years with the same company only making minor lateral moves. They simply won't allow inexperienced people to work the jobs above me. They want people with years of experience but nobody can get years of experience if they're unwilling to hire a newbie.
