I divorced my husband of five years because he constantly "forgot" to remove the lint from the filter in the dryer no matter how many times I told him to. He just kept pretending it slipped his mind. The rational thing to do is to have the person loading the dryer remove the lint before use, not after.
The peron loading the dryer has a stake in removing the lint to ensure that his load of properly dried. Failure to do so punishes him.
Expecting him to remove it after the fact, when it is both easily forgotten and there is no immediate consequence, is a foolish move.
The net effect is the same - you are both expected to remove the lint in proportion to the times that you use the dryer as an individual.
This is a lesson I learned from sharing the dryer in the military.

If you always forget to [do thing], put a label on or near [thing] telling you to [do thing]. Especially if it'll only take 3 seconds to do and you pass by it regularly.
