Really if the US is able to both fund And end the war then it will be the most successful moves from the US in a long while. This war fractured BRICS's allies, reconfirmed NATO and even strengthened it, gave excuses for everyone to come down on China and India, and even rooted out the real pro-west and pro-east factions when before there was alot of countries playing both sides.
