Actually, no, that’s not likely, because the government has been making very real moves to consolidate power, crush internal dissent, and use state power against a scapegoat class of people. Now they are threatening to punish dissident states directly with military force, but with all things Trump, the question of whether it’s real or not is up in the air until it actually happens.
They have everything they need in place and the tools to do it, and there’s nothing to stop them.
