First I'll say that I forgive you. You are a Meximutt. You see History through your own lense.
As you have been fucked by the Spaniards into oblivion for the last 500 years in wave after wave of Spanish settlement... and that are the half of you who got lucky because the other half was so disgusting that continue to be full blown Amerindian niggers to these days... it's somewhat natural that you project that "experience" to the rest of the world.
But let me educate you:
Despite being the capital of the Ottoman Empire for 500 years, Constantinople was always a Greek majority city all the way to World War One.
In that city since the moslems took power the organisation was in segregated neighbourhoods based on religion and then further divided by ethnicity inside the religiously different areas.
Turks lived in the moslem area. But it was a hugely Greek city always. There probably were more Armenians than Turks in Constantinople throughout those 500 years but certainly so since the 1700s.
There was even a significant amount of "Latins" who were Italian tradesmen, and obviously: There were jewish quarters too.
To finalise: When the Turks conquered the city most Greeks had left Constantinople.
Meaning that Constantinople was just a shadow of its former self, it was greately diminished in population.
By the time the Turks took Constantinople most Greeks were already subjugated by the Turks as it was the last city to fall.
And by the way in those times there was a huge immigration of the Greek elite from Constantinople (mainly, but also a bit throughout Greek inhabited islands in both sides of the Eagean) to Europe, mostly Italy and France.
Mexico (and the Americas) is not a good example as how life goes in the rest of the (more civilised) world.
