>>513546156For many, Ron Paul kickstarted the millenial anti-GOP establishment era. Even if some of his politics are now dated, he represented a lot of things from dismantling the GOP, the military industrial complex, the fed, a return to personal liberty, a re-evaluation of interventionism and excessive spending, etc. Despite common belief, he wasn't a libertarian but a paleoconservitive/"constitutionalist." Even his immigration policy wasn't open borders, he wanted to end birth right citizenship, cut economic incentives, and deport illegals.
Again, Ron Pauls biggest legacy was kickstarting much of the millenial originated right wing extremism you see today as a consequence of the establishment gop blatantly screwing him over mixed with the internet. Ever since then, descendents from that era started rapidly branching out their ideological position to find an "answer" like third positionists or christian nationalism. In fact, the tech bro right like Peter Thiel, the alt-right like Richard Spencer, and many anons in the gamergate era had political foundations or intersected with Ron Paul. Much of that was a consequence of Ron Paul being the first internet candidate frim which many memetic traditions were innovated. Those same techniques wpuld go on to help Trump win the election and find use in the overarching "culture war." In short, Ron Paul was a millenial's first redpill and pipeline into dissident politics. He is foundational. Though, this has been a generational thing with people like buchanan, another paleoconservative.
