Is exercising actually bad for your health?
So if you drive a car all the time it causes wear and tear and literally destroys it from the inside out but somehow lifting tons of heavy metals day and night in a gym improves your health? You tell me that ligaments and joints get better with extensive use instead of worse? That somehow they are immune to entropy?

The whole thing looks like a giant scam but it's heavily marketed as good for you because the whole self-improvement fitness industry would collapse overnight if exercise was exposed as damaging your body and ageing you faster than normal. People who never exercise always look younger than those who do

You need to stress your body to stay strong but there's a point where your body doesn't recover and is just being stressed more and more. Running marathons, constantly maxing out, plus all the supplements required for it are all bad for you. Most men that start working out just end up with an eating disorder

Being healthy enough to move is good

Natural movements like a weekly sport are better.

Just don't be retarded with it and you'll be fine. Exercise helps improve a lot of injuries. Google physical therapy, retard.

Because they aren't healthmaxxing you retard, they are looksmaxxing and sometimes performancemaxxing, which nearly always involves roid abuse and insane diets. If you are just eating clean and training hard you are going to be extremely healthy.

Having a great physiche isn't worth the time, coming from someone who pushed weights for 15 years. My 5-10 hours a week would have been better spent on professional development, since most people think strong people are stupid.

Working out does make you look younger, unless you're very low body fat. The reason why some people age badly is because they're on roids which seriously fuck your shit up and are never worth it unless you're an elite athlete or something

If you dont do it to the extreme it is actually beneficial. Esp. if you have joint problems or knee problems because the additional muscle can compensate to some degree.
It also depends on the jeans.

All these looksmaxxing fags and whores are using gear and damaging their skin by tanning. Tanning is the worst thing a white person can do for their youthfulness. It turns your skin into cancerous leather. The gear will put your ass into cardiac arrest before you hit 60.

They certainly get worse. That's why old dudes who worked out a ton have issues.

I did the whole lifting thing for a while. Never too heavy. It was cool, but I've gained much more mass and strength from doing practical physical activity. And I'll have good knees and shoulders at 60.

If you do something like Madcow's/Bill Starr's 5x5 and just go on half hour walks you'll probably be fine. The body needs movement to repair itself or something like that I can't remember. There's a point where you just damage yourself though yeah. Look at Ronnie Coleman. Pumped juice and lifted huge weights now he's wrecked and can't even walk. You're supposed to move but not too much you'll just wear yourself out. Talk to any old tradesman. Sitting down in an office chair is bad for you too as your back slowly dies. There's no winning.

A lot of athletes that make it past 20 have broken bodies by 40 if not 30, most of them die before 65 and if they were outside almost guaranteed skin cancer or cancer lite
A lot of gym rats have teared ligaments and tendons thanks to the massive weight they carry constantly
I just walk barefoot a lot at home, then stroll outside regularly and do some machine work at the gym thats low joint impact like seated lat rows, seated shoulder presses and dumbell squats and carries/lunges with moderate weight
Turns our my genes arent made for heavy weights either, i NEED to do a lot of band work to stay in one piece but life has been much better since stopping heavy duty exercise, it was inflamed everyday

Well, a car doesn't have the ability to repair itself, the human body does. If you put stress on your muscles and your bones, your body has no choice but to adapt and become stronger, more resistant to that stress. But this doesn't go to infinity, if you keep increasing the stress, you will reach a point where it's too much for your body to handle and you will injure yourself.
If you train in moderation, it will absolutely improve your health and longevity. I have been doing some kind of sport since I was about 14 years old but I never wanted to be a professional so I never pushed myself too hard and now I'm in my 30s with a resting heart rate of 45. Feeling great.

I've been lifting for 18 years, longer than many of you underageb&s have been alive. I can tell you high volume lifting fucks your shit up, but low volume makes you feel great. I used to do 3-5 sets and always had lingering pain, onset injuries, always sore and joints hurt. Now I do one set of each lift after a full body warmup. That's it, just one failure set. I feel great, there's no recovery pains, and I never get injuries. Gains go up quicker too, at my age it's crazy to still be making steady natty gains but with this method it's possible. It doesn't help with endurance so I do 2 days of heavy one sets and 1 day of bodyweight endurance/cardio to bump up muscle size and endurance. Low volume weights will get you strong as fuck and the endurance work will get your muscles storing lots of glycogen and expanding.

Do not use weights for endurance by doing high volume, that's retarded. That's not what weights are for and using them wrong will fuck you up and be useless.

> supplements and energy drinks destroy your organs over time
> you get a sleep disorder
> you get a eating disorder
Becomming a gymrat is slow suicide, guess why so many of them troon out.
The best sport is one you do at 70ish% of your capacity. It's hard o get recovery time for more, if you hold a job.

we're all like candles anon. the harder we live, the faster we burn out, that goes for being obese and "health maxxing". Schwarzenegger only looked ripped for about 1/4 of his life. He was past his prime when he hit it big and even then he became significantly smaller in order to ease up his regiment little by little over time by guidance of his team of doctors. And he still looks like shit now with a body that's a constant limited wreck but it could have been far worse.

I have literally NEVER WORKED OUT for most of my life due to my heart condition. So I skipped gym all school.

I just started at 31 after my heart got better. I do 10 minutes on the elliptical and maybe bench 100 pounds. It's nothing. I'm starting to take creatine too and get into all of that shit.

Honestly it fucking feels good. I don't feel like a weirdo wimp anymore. My posture is getting better too.

It's super bad for you. I'd stop even walking, if I were you. Each step you take puts 150% of your bodyweight of force on the knee, so even getting out of bed is bound to wreck your knees by the time you're 2 years old. Lounging around 24/7 is the healthiest option.

It has its benefits and consequences. I've been lifting and alternating with hi intensity cardio for the past 20 years and while I'm fit for a 45yo man, my joints are killing me. Mostly my knees, shoulders, and lower back.

Since my job requires working with my hands, my wrists and thumb are starting to lock up as well. Glucosamine use to help but lately, everything is just randomly hurting, from shooting pain in my knee when getting out the car to having a shoulder seize up when using a breaker bar on a stubborn lugnut. Probably just gonna get worse to the point where I'm lookin at early retirement.
