Deep State admin likes to pretend there's encircled Russians so they don't get arrested and sent to the front. They had some encircled in the north for like 6 weeks. There's zero chance a couple dozen encircled troops without supply could hold on that long.

The salient/push was cutting off supply to Porkroast, if the Ukrainians didn't contain it then it was going to be Avdiivka retreat 2.0. If they're not retarded and start an orderly withdrawal now they can fall back to the last fortifications and dig in (instead of Russians flanking them like it looked like happening).

The push on Kiev was to bring about a fast, negotiated resolution without the need for a protracted war. This happened, Ukraine signed an armistice agreement. Then Boris fucking Johnson convinced them to fight instead and here we are a couple million casualties later.

It wasn't a feint, it was a bluff. Once that bluff was called they had no option but to retreat or try and take the city with shithouse logistics and a HUGE supply train.

Total zigger death.

Supposedly the Russians that broke through ended up settling into some of Ukraines better prepared defensive fortifications, which could mean deeper and more resilient dugouts/bunkers. It's probably like a squad sized element holed up in a bunker that the Ukrainians haven't been able to verifiably vaporize yet, and which isn't worth risking the men to clear out with soldiers. They've been mostly shelling the pocket and fully blockading it, including intercepting Russian resupply drones, in the interest of starving the last Russians out instead of losing troops trying to storm fortifications.

pokrovsk is just off-screen to the southwest
konstantinivka is a bit over to the east
both are ukro held cities that are being encircled rn. as you can imagine, theres a major road between the two cities that allows them to move supplies, dudes, weapons, etc
the ruskie goal was obv to cut that link, then move in and attack each city while they were both isolated
better luck next time, i guess

America literally just gave Afghanistan to the Taliban because it was too costly to hold. Should they not have done that? Don't be retarded.

Russia withdrew from where it's supply lines were stretched, ramped up industrial production, expanded enlistment and fortified the Donbas and landbridge to Crimea The strategy was clear. It worked because Ukraine's summer offensive of 2024 was completely impotent.
