Ate pizza hut a few months ago because it was the only thing immediately close to my hotel open for carryout. Pizza was trash, boneless wings were edible but nothing special. Will likely not return ever again. Pay a few bucks more and get something better from a good local place.

Pizza hut tastes just ok and the cheese smells a little rancid like a whiff of vomit. It doesn't taste like vomit, but the smell is there. Also it's like 15% more than Dominos despite being worse, so... not sure what their plan is.

It's a simpler explanation... dominos conquered the pizza market in 2020 by going balls to the wall with revamping their online ordering systems and marketing like crazy, and then they added pan pizza to their menu, changed up a few ingredients.

True, but also they were massively overpriced. I think they just tried to see what they could get away with. Fast food prices are the same, if not more expensive than a real quality restaurant at the moment. I came across an original style pizzahut awhile back and went in for nostalgias sake about a year ago. The decor was the same but the salad bar was closed with all the lights turned off, same with the buffet, drinks weren't self serve, and it just didn't taste good. Never should have resigned. Never should have changed their recipe. Never should have downgraded ingredients. I wanted to like it. I really did. It was supposed to be a fun nostalgic thing for me and my girlfriend who went to elementary together and had shared memories of that sort of thing to enjoy but it was just bad.
