Why aren't kick scooters more popular as a personal transport option in cities while people are a-ok with their electric scooters blowing up and killing them constantly? You can take a mechanical scoot with you on public transport while electric bombs are banned.

Europe is regulating these. Make you wear helmet. You're gonna have to get a license plate, they're working on designs for license plates holsters that work on human ass. Gonna pay taxes too. And a forfait CO2 emission charge based on 0.25 grams of CO2 per kilometer. That the median CO2 coming out of your ass in farts per hour when using kick scooter.

you're too new to the EU thing, the mechanical ones are not regulated YET. there is nothing unelected bureaucrats in brussels won't regulate eventually to make your life more miserable. hard work is being done now on mechanical kick scooters, among other things we looking at helmets with small license plate holders in the helmet kinda like a big barcode on the back of ur head

Because most cities dont allow any form of personal transportation on sidewalks and scooters aren't safe on the road period. Also kick scooters are just generally worse than bikes at actually getting around.

so? we regulate and tax your use of your limbs. my sweet innocent child. you're an EU member now. Go to the netherlands they're all riding regular fucking bicycles with license plates on them. And these bicycles are taxed through a company benefit in kind system.

Usually when we come up with new ways to KEK europeans we try it on the dutch first, they will take any amount of abuse and humiliation.

I rode kick scooters constantly as soon as I got my first Razor at age 11. Rode them everywhere as actual transportation until I was 22 and they stopped smoking the adult version of the simple lightweight kick scooters. This gave me a permanent limb imbalance and all kind soft muscle-skeletal misalignments. Most obvious sign is that the undersole of my right shoe always wears out, I wear them until there is a hole all the way through, while the left shoe sole is still plenty thick. And this is just from walking, more than 10 years since I stopped scooting. I've been to excellent chiropractors and pts, but outside in the real world the misalignment keeps coming back, so I don't bother with that anymore, people say I walk funny like I'm drunk or high.

I haven't used a scooter in 20 years but I got jumped when I was 12 by 2 teens with pocket knives or exacto knives I fended them off by swinging my scooter at them. I took off the handlebars (2.25 ft. T shape) and hit him in the face and teeth fragments came out and I broke his sunglasses and they ran off.

Looked gay as fuck but it made for a good self defense weapon.

Got a model? I literally saw a guy use one because his office is located super close to every government building. I got no need for cars either because everything is so close to me. I literally only drive a pick-up to take my dog to the vet and help grandma move around her restaurant's supplies.

Gonna be honest, OP makes a convincing argument. A scooter would be useless out in the sticks where I live but I can see the appeal, I used to enjoy fucking around on a razor or whatever they were called back in the day.

Just ride a fucking bike. Those things take way too much effort. If you have to go further than 1km it’s a workout and a half. A bike can get you anywhere without problems. Miles even. Just learn how to ride a fucking bike. Bikes basically even outperform cars except for ultra long distance and even then you can still do that on a bike with the right gear and fitness.

used some when i was younger and had a job ~10km away. it was kind of miserable to go up or downhill with those, especially downhill. There was a portion where i literally had to go like 40km/h, break until my shoe almost melts, then jump off into a full sprint while carrying that thing and trying to not hit my legs with it, while i slow down.
>>513606105
that crap would be literally unusable here, you won't get any parking spots and there's quite a few roads you suddenly can't use anymore, just so you can be mildly annoying and flex? Much more comfortable to just have a Lexus IS350 or something, if you want to keep something quick, that's more practical
