Windows 11 update was worst ever!
Man who updated his Windows 11 got his SSD physically destroyed!
The news site is mostly for mobile phone internet users but it does cover some Windows 11 things as well
https://mobiili.fi/2025/08/21/katastrofaalinen-windows-11-paivitys-ssd-tallennusmuisteja-tuhoutunut/
He installed Windows 11 update named KB5063878. It destroyed SSD.
SSD drives with Phison branded controller ship (the company who sells the drive can be anyone except Samsung and Intel, Samsung uses only Samsung controller and Intel uses either Samsung or Intel).
The problem seems to be that after the update Windows starts writing random bytes on free space on SSD and this goes on forever until drive is ruined.
It doesnt take more than a couple of days to ruin a cheap SSD which cells cannot whitstand 24/7 writecycle. Expensive industrial SSD:s can do that for up to two years.
