I often wonder that myself. About the only thing I can come up with is that the point of life is to get to know the true divine self inside through material adversity.

Depending on how religious and brave you are, it’s to attain everlasting life or live on through history or just tolerate life until it’s over. There really aren’t any other alternatives to these three motivations, logically speaking of course. If it’s a matter of instinct rather than reason, well, there isn’t one. Animals don’t need a purpose to live. They cling to life because they had to and instinctively crave rest and relaxation and joy until it’s over.
