I tried, but English I can easily immerse on the net, and before the net, I could easily immerse on RPG games growing up (learned it mostly by playing Final Fantasy and Pokémon and checking dictionaries because we had no translator tools back then). I could do duolingo or similar for chinese, or even something simpler like italian, but without context to immerse myself in, I forget everything after a few weeks.

Problem is, I already found a couple of open sores projects that I wanted to dig up the source code to check something, clone and self host, etc, and it was all chinkery. I don't like hitting that language barrier.
