Its because the Democrats are so obsessed with their own internal political court that they have completely lost sight of what the country as a whole wants, or how to make that happen. They are a supposedly left-leaning party that has been chasing the center and moving further and further Right for decades. They are a party that is supposed to be protecting the middle class and unions that refuse to campaign on the economy.
The democrats have a job they need to be doing, and they are not doing it. Their ONLY selling point in the current day is when people get fed up with the Republicans so they can avoid the GOP or MAGA being in control for a while, but thats not an exciting selling point.

The only way that the democrats can survive as an organization right now is a fire and blood approach, completely ripping out their current leadership and replacing it with younger, more progressive politicians who can fire up the base. But they will never DO that, thats against how the DNC operates, which means that democratic voters are just sitting here in the doldrums waiting for another party to show up and eat the Democrats lunch.
We don't vote blue because we like the DNC, we vote blue because our only two options are "ineffective" or "actively insane". We'd LOVE a party that we can actually be happy with. As much as I don't like republican policies, I'll never fault them for appealing to their Base because thats what their voters actually want even if I think they are crazy for wanting it. The dems don't give me SHIT to look forward to aside from less stress reading the news.
