It is self-deception. We can all find reasons to become depressed: witness them, write them down.
Do not follow that becoming, as then you allow the circumstances behind them to violate your being. Your body and intellect will suffer the toil and iniquity of life, but that is not justification to open the door to your soul, to the defilers.
Don't allow the violators to defile your soul.
You have the garden, and you have the temple. You can share your garden without sharing your temple.
Loving your enemies does not mean love in vain. Allowing your enemies to defile you is not love.
Loving your enemies pours hot coals on their heads, spiritually speaking. Hell is what God's infinite love is, to those who reject Him.
A real man comes back for his sister, mother, wife, as Jesus comes back for his Church.
