why the fuck would I drive a truck for $27/hr (average trucker wage) when in many states I can make $18-22 an hour at an entry level retail position, where I am much safer, in a climate controlled room all day and can go home to my family every night?

I'm not even 100% opposed to immigrant labor. It makes sense for seasonal jobs like agriculture and tourism business. But if you put these people in charge of vital strategic industries, it's just nation ruining.

This is a good point. My friend got a CDL at our company and driving over the road to other states pays 30$ an hour but staying in the yard and moving trailers all day pays 25$ an hour.

If you drive over the road you have to deal with retards on the road, the pay is relatively garbage and you are away from home 3-4 days a week.

When moving trailers you are home every day, you only deal with other yard jockies
