So how does one get a job in this day and age? Get a degree, get a masters, polish your resume, work part time as a bartender or some shit while you're studying and still you can't get hired? Am I reading this right? I've gotten every job I've ever had from knowing someone who got me the job. I've been head hunted from one job to the other. I've never had to do the HR humiliation ritual. I tried 1000 applications a year for 3 years and the only three (3) return calls I got where for multi-level-marketing where they wanted DIRECT ACCESS to my social media and I got fired cus I never had one. The 3rd one was literally a call center than scammed me. Less than 3 weeks for in 3 years. Never trying again.

Nothing works well in this market, the only interviews I get are from recruiters reaching out to me. Applying to jobs never gets an interview, I've applied to hundreds of jobs and haven't gotten one request for interview. Sending people messages on LinkedIn doesn't work either, they always ignore me. I've even been talking to people on LinkedIn and as soon as I mention that I'm looking for a job they stop talking to me.

No, they said it was a red flag that I didn't have social media because I need to 'book sessions with my friends THAT I REACHED OUT TO PERSONALLY' (you guis are mi frens) but they didn't mention on the hiring ads... or any of the (unpaid) training... that these where HARD REQUIREMENTS or that this job is not suited to people who don't have a social network to sell to. They proceeded to say they would take people out and setup appointments for them 'until their leads got going' but turns out it was 99% turn over in <2 weeks. Basically a scam with literal misrepresentation.
