I have good memories of Stake and Shake. I remember my grandpa taking me to Stake and Shake when I was very young. The meal was delicious. They have some of the best fries. I have bought Stake and Shake afterwards too, good food. Maybe not the healthiest, but if you want something delicious to eat for a good price Stake and Shake is great. It's been about 23 years since I ate at the one that's on my hometown. It was pretty meh. Except for the Friday catfish fry and hush puppies deal they had. Shit was killer and they used local sourced catfish. Beyond that it could've not existed and I'd have not noticed, plus I typically go out of my way to avoid patronizing non local eateries or local places that heat n serve Pegler Sysco slop.
These corporate slugs ruin everything they touch. PepsiCo destroyed Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, McDonald's, Burger King, Churches Chicken and the list goes on. If you didn't grow up until after they took over the majority of these places, you probably don't realize how much better that slop was before.
