I ended up here when they started censoring, purging, and banning everyone for the pettiest bullshit. Even if you toed their line you would just get banned a few years later when they check your post history and ban you for things posted 5-10+ ago that is now considered hate speech. Back in the day I used to be a digital nomad who migrated around the internet. Same reason why I stopped playing online games too for that matter.

Yeah politics isn't why I first ended up here originally either. Didn't know enough shit to take part in those debates back than. Was entertaining and informative to watch though. In order to avoid getting sued the glowniggers and globohomo ordered big tech to implement the censorship and magically didn't do anything to enforce free speech laws. So if you wanted to sue them you had to go after every single tech entity with their insane money and expect the biased courts to be in your favor. I think this was proven with the Snowden documents. Meanwhile they used adbucks and censoring the search engines to choke out smaller sites. If that didn't work that was when they would spam the CP and try to break into their mod/janny positions to nuke the holdouts. The censorship really got dialed up in the 10s. It was also when their censorship reached into video games which was when people finally started to bitch about it mass because you were no longer allowed to say nigger when playing vidya.

Search engines also still don't work btw. Every time someone gets a working search engine set up they get wrecked/bought out so the search engines gets wrecked all over again. At this point finding a functional search engine is like chasing the dragon.

But how you know that things were really going to shit is the place that was considered edgy started talking about embracing traditions. It was something that was casually said online or in school among young men. Jews were the ones that tried their hardest to change the discourse on that. To crack down on it.

4chan is one of the few islands that managed to hold on to the early internet and 00s culture. But even it is diluted due to the waves of tourists that come here and never bother to learn the board culture, instead bring their own faggotry and self-censorship here. Because they grew up with an internet that was more commercialised and full of censorship that only got worse with the years.
