They would have to have some kind of insane light speed bending technology or they'd have to be immortal due to how long the distances are. We can see very very far, we would have picked up something else by now. It's self luminance must have another explanation. Maybe this space rock was the result of two planets colliding and it has a heavier more metallic core that heats up due to friction with the other layer. Maybe it collided with a rock on its way in, has gone into a spin and the friction heats up the core that looks like self luminance.

in the end, i doubt that spacefaring species exist in this entire universe. there just doesn't seem to be anything of interest for species to spread beyond its system (e.g. like modern human world spread out to the deserts because there's oil there). rarely there's a case where leaving the system for a relocation eg due to a dying star is necessary, but such an undertaking would require too much resources and effort to deal with physical limitations. so i'm actually even doubting that this has ever happened before in the universe or will ever happen
