World War 2 wasn't even a "World War", it was just 3 major wars and a couple of minor ones all happening at roughly the same time. Do you really think that once the global order breaks down a bit and the blood is in the water, that several regional wars won't break out at around the same time and thus become "world war 3"? It might not happen soon, but sooner or later there will be another "world war" because of the nature of technology, globalization, and the breakdown of US hegemony. There's no getting around this.

It won't happen this decade, hell it might not even be until the turn of the century, but we will reach an inflection point where the availability of crude oil dwindles to no longer make it possible for the billions of useless eaters on this planet to have vehicles with combustion engines.

Governments and corporations will see it coming years in advance and will start deceptively preparing the population for major rationing efforts to ensure the continuity of government. This means military, intelligence agencies, bodies of government, and big urban emergency service departments first. Then a select few corporations that deal in global logistics and shipping will get to bid on what the government doesn't hoard since global shipping will still be imperative for the economies of the world. And maybe if we're lucky smaller clinics and hospitals and other semi critical facilities will get allotted some reserves for their backup generators.

It'll start out kind of like COVID, where all the governments are sort of doing the same thing and they're pushing the globohomo "we're all in this together!" mottos. But really it's just theatrics at first until the fighting breaks out, kind of like what we just went through for the past 5 or 6 years. Except it will be over something nations will absolutely nuke each other over.

I was responding to someone who called me a right winger and criticized me for quoting someone with socialist political leanings. I replied by pointing out that things are not truly left and right, that there are myriad political opinions and subtle differences, and I even provided a trernary plot of political groups, which shows that left and right is an over simplification.
