I fucking hate Australia and it's normalisation of gambiling with a passion
>as a teen grew up broke with only mom working main job
>dad injured and has to work with shitty brother
>basically, lose everything we had and live pay check to pay check
>dad is a massive gambler and spends his entire paycheck on slots
>mom tells me never to gamble and tells me how strenuous it is to lose money
>fast forward 10 years later
>literally the same circumstances
>dad and mom introduced me to gambling the moment I turned 18
>became addicted very quickly and lost thousands of dollars throughout the years
>hit rock bottom in life and now I'm so fucking blackpilled about the state of this country
>mom has now become a gambler, claiming "it helps her to relax" and refuses to listen to me
>parents basically turn into pic above while playing
This country is so unbelievabley fucked. Half of all Australians are gamblers, and it's the only country in the world where you can place a row of fucking slot/ roulette machines into one room at a pub. Its impossible to find any place that doesn't enable its entire customer population to waste their money on slots, and even then 50% of the money a business generates through gaming goes back to the government. Our own government will churn out non gambling ads on our phones and TV in a dying economy where you can't even afford a house, a car or even a fucking closet to sleep in. I hate it here so much and its only going to get so much worse.
