The logo isn't the only thing that changed, and it's a pretty bipartisan opinion that they took something classic and made it join the stupid hyper modern American restaurant trend. Hospital lights and bright colors everywhere for no reason.

Literally the only restaurants I even like going to are old bar and grills and Ramen shops. A lot of the Asian places aren't bound by the same corporate retardation American ones are. You go in and it's low lights, a lofi radio playing somewhere. What is the end goal here? I imagine this is some braindead marketing ploy to "rebrand" for a broader, younger, metropolitan market. The bland branding you see there I imagine is a stepping stone to renaming the entire Cracker Barrel franchise to simply "CB." They probably seek to eventually transform this into a more fast-food (yet home cooked style) meal service, with simpler designed restaurants opening up in airports, on college campuses, and other places with captive audiences. These would also require less real estate, so they could open up stores in more urban areas. The removal of the gift shops would save money on real estate and eliminate concerns about shoplifting.

I think if they had any sense, they would have opened a sister chain called CB's and kept the Cracker Barrels just as they were for the truckers and the vacationers and the Sunday bruncher boomers. But again, the key takeaway here is that this is a purposeful erasure of white culture and American traditionalism.

Except in most cases the logo changes make perfect sense for brand recognition and advertising, you might not like it but the changes to McDonalds buildings/logos make it more appealing on a subconscious level, you don't even know that you would prefer eating there now over how it used to look.
