Even if we totally ignore the currently unstable situation of their domestic politics and strategy, Israel is already on a track to a bad time as the American people are simply not willing to fight another war for a country they despise. America has lost much of its manufacturing capacity which makes it difficult to supply Israel with the weapons and defenses it needs just to block a fraction of Iranian missiles. They have no clout in the East barring some penetration in Eastern Europe and Russia, but they are clearly not going to sacrifice their time and resources propping up a state which is hated by the world.

And those estimates are just for the IDF reserves. The 120k-ish IDF ground army that existed on Oct 6th is just a fraction of that now.

I calculated all the infantry soldiers in the regular IDF army in fall 2023 and it was like 25-30k. And now they're admitting that they're 7k infantry soldiers short of what they need. and 3k other soldiers short, total of 10k short. But I bet it's twice those figures, easy.

So maybe 15k infantry short and 25-30k soldiers short overall.
