Marriage rates are down and even dating is down, with more and more young people single than ever before, and larger and larger shares of young men still virgins deep into their twenties. All this study does is examine the behaviors of people already in a relationship. Well, what good is that when it's only examining a shrinking pool of the overall population? "Damn you inkwells, why aren't you doing more chores for your non-existent GF?"

Since this study only examines people already in a relationship, then there is an easier way to figure out what's going on with the fertility rates of those subjects. When you are satisfied in your relationship, you are willing to do more for your partner, and you probably have more sex so more chances at making babies. If the relationship is on the rocks, or in some cases one or both persons are already looking outside the relationship, then you will do less for each other, and are probably having less sex with each other. It's not rocket science.
