Because it's obviously a rock, even for a drug addicted fat midwit can come to this conclusion. An interstellar death machine would be much faster and much smaller, a loose swarm of centimeter-sized black objects. The only thing of note is that the statistical models for interstellar asteroid impacts are probably wrong, and that new way better telescopes have to be built.
There is a realistic chance that Atlas is going to nuke Mars and I think this scares Elon because Mars is his favorite subject and vision driver. Yes, I fear Elon our fearless leader might be legit scared.
