That was my biggest mistake and my ideals have done nothing but make me depressed. It is just hard to accept the fact there are so many stupid fucking people from the top down to the bottom, just dragging along for their next paycheck. I'm trying to get into retard maxing, but don't want to destroy what is left of my mind just to be happy, because that is a little too retarded. For the most part I've just become an agreeable person even with those that say some of the dumbest shit. And even if I don't agree I kind of just keep the disagreement very light hearted and inoffensive.

My dad was a marine, many decades ago. He said it taught him self-discipline, which he did not learn from his childhood homelife. I assume the travel helped as well, because he grew up in a fairly isolated part of the country.

My best friend was a cook in the navy, the other was an infantryman in the army
They hated it, and despite one being in a combat role and the other being in a non combat role, they had similar criticisms overall
