Have you ever talked to someone in person who actually failed the breakfast question?
Did you check to see if they just misunderstood what you asked?

I usually don't ask people the breakfast question, and I try to stay away from certain groups of people who look like they would fail it. If I meet you in person and you don't have enough sense to pass the breakfast question, I'm probably not going to be talking to you long enough to ask it.

Too many of them. Early on in my career I was managing a warehouse and I was responsible for managing and recruiting warehouse staff and delivery drivers. Turnover was pretty high, we had to get rid of a lot of people of theft, drugs or alcohol on the job so we seemed to be constantly recruiting

Most of the staff or applicants were black followed by hispanics then whites. A very large percentage of them just could not do hypotheticals or future planning. It didnt matter how many times you tried to role play scenarios with them they just could not mentally model a hypothetical in the most. Its not all of them, some were smart but the majority just could not mentally abstract to form hypothetical models

Did they actually fail the breakfast question?
Specifically:
>How would you feel if you hadn't had breakfast today?

this is the first I've heard of the breakfast question but if you can't immediately answer that you're a fucking retard

Yes. It was a meme that I came across at the time from people working in the planning and logistics department. They would joke about it all the time in reference to the warehouse and delivery staff

The first time I asked it was out of frustration with a dude who kept messing up a conditional loading rota and I just blurted out sarcastically and through frustration: How would you feel if you didnt have breakfast this morning?

He just looked at me like I had suddenly turned into a talking dog, thought about it for 30 seconds and told me in his own local vernacular: That doesnt make any sense, I had breakfast this morning. So I asked him again: but how would you feel if you didnt? He just didnt get it. I tried it with a few other who also couldnt deal with mental modelling abstractions or hypotheticals with pretty much the same results
