Its the whole receptor thing that was blocked or altered, ACE2? kills the connection to the feedback loop. They are essentially zombies, they hold any information from before but do not really retain nor generation new information, its slow and things like the news are parroted because that's what they've always remembered that the news is reliable, it's safe. It will become more and more apparent as norms, customs, laws are changed and they can't keep up, same with their bodies. It cannot fight the changes in dangerous viruses, most things like that really they can't adapt, cancer, etc.. are growing rampant as they body doesn't actively keep it in check anymore. Diseases or things that were going to happen in their life, in say 20-40 years, is happening in 5-15 years. people will and are acting forgetful, dementia, etc...
