They have higher tendencies towards psychopathy, and have never developed a philosophical concept of their own comparable to say, Ahimsa, or Christian Humanism.

Because these are essentially foreign concepts to them, attempting to impose them from the outside is a fragile short-lived thing.

They must experience from within, the interconnectedness of all living things, or else, forcing them to act in such a manner is no different to training an animal, to do something it does not understand the purpose of.

If you don't give it regular rewards, it will naturally revert.

Lower forms of human life are unable to develop feelings of compassion and empathy towards others, they selfishly only tend to themselves while others around have to wait even if it means suffering for it. You see this with animals, how even certain apes eat their young if they are unable to satisfy their hunger, but a human mind is far more superior yet some people still act this way making them even worse than animals unable to think otherwise and working just based on their instinct. If a person doesn't love other people it can be due to this nature of loving animals far more (which is understandable, because of certain people's greed and destruction of this world, while animals take as much as they need to survive), while those who hate and abuse animals contain even less for other human beings.
