99% of people who claim they can't afford basic needs in life yet have a full time job are bad with money.

This average is bogged down by ghetto and rural teachers too. I work at an elementary school and every teacher is making close to 6 figures to finger paint and doesn’t work for 3 months out of the year on top of countless holidays. Only the newbie teachers have to “struggle” until they have tenure and then they can do the bare minimum for another 20 years, cash out their PERA, and ride into the sunset knowing damn well they ruined multiple generations of children.

idk stories like this always seem very unrealistic. in most states I know of teachers have great 'benefits' so being unable to see a doctor is dubious. and teachers have like 3 fuckin months off a year - they can absolutely pick up 10 grand working during that time which would more than cover car repairs and modest investment savings...

It's not true. Teachers get state funded healthcare plans negotiated by their uberpowerful union. Not the qualifiers: "see a doctor for headaches." Why the words 'see' 'doctor' 'headaches'? Because she has some ultra particular fake disease and she's been to doctors through her insurance, but she wants to go out of network to some specialist and insurance said no. 'A doctor' also is particular: it suggests she has a particular doctor in mind. Not just 'any doctor'.

The real story isn't that teachers are poor: the story is that this particular teacher can't manage her own finances and yet is in charge of brainwashing children.
