He's not talking about the country itself being rage-inducing he's talking about it being bait for outrage. Since the 90s terminally online media/porn addicted millennials evolved to be consummate weebs thinking that Japan is something between a petting zoo and a garden. Picrel for context, there was some fictitious culture war about a McDonald's ad, since 2015 Japan was roped into the gamergate narrative and used as a talking point to rail against people wanting to censor tits in video games and anime which was then later hijacked by neocons (like Breitbart) to turn the narrative toward the topics of natalism, 'wokeness' (whatever this means), and diversity. Personally the only hatred I feel towards Japan as a concept is that if you do any meaningful reading on the country it tends to piss both weebs and liberals off, you get called either a racist or kike, basically discussing without argument becomes impossible even if you're informed.
