Modernizing Pizza Hut ruined Pizza Hut. Both the food and the esthetic. It was paid for with government money. It is possible they squeezed out some USAID money before it was shut down by DOGE.

Cracker Barrel is a restaurant that serves southern style food with a country bumpkin esthetic. It was a kino dining experience. They ruined a whole chain. Now you got to go to some out of the way tourist area to find a place with a rustic feel to get a similar experience. If you don't live near a tourist attraction you are unlikely to find a restaurant as nice with that kind of look.
