Because this same class of people destroyed the chain of knowledge and experience for two main reasons. One, there is less competition for them. Second, it's cheaper labor.

Literally every person with 5+ years of professional experience building reusable commercial rockets already works for him because he's the only one doing that. If he wants more skilled workers, he's going to invest in training them.

There's a reason why, for most of history, the skilled trades were built on the apprenticeship model. If your business relies on having people with skills that aren't taught in school, you're going to have to teach those people yourself.

My state school didn't let me do computer science because you had to apply to the major and be accepted which is something you had to do Summer before freshmen year.
I was literally kept out of it.
I could have transferred schools but then that would mean going from in-state tuition to out of state which is like a 300% increase in costs.

And the only reason my school gatekept compsci was because our state had a region with retard tiger mom only study tutored in everything kids, so they basically wanted the state college to get a parity reputation with top private colleges in tech, and that meant they only wanted these try-hard chink kids coming out of the CS program.

Shit like this happens all the time as democratic blue state government institutions constantly fight for relevance and resources, the literal actual curse of the public sector that they never ever admit to when criticizing the private sector.
