When a Folk Wrestling match looks incredibly impressive & one sided, it is usually a match dominated by a Wrestler that is older/stronger, more technically skilled, or some combination of both. Wrestlers that are on the mat as soon as they get out of diapers & their competitive parents hold them back a year before high school, in a match with some newbie that just joined the sport is going to get rekt regardless of gender A Varsity Senior is going going to destroy the freshman JV kid. These girls have a weight advantage against Males killing themselves trying to cut into the class, & are always the Coaches Pet. Often, boys get very uncomfortable wrestling girls for reasons, let alone going full blast. Male kids are embarrassed by beating a girl, & even more embarrassed by losing to a girl. Some girls do fine against the boys until skill & adolescent T kick in. I have never seen any of these the girls do squat at States, except within ultra light weight / special female vs female matches. Not to take anything away from a dedicated Wrestler, girls who can survive a day in the practice room are fucking Beast in my opinion, but thinking they can hang with a Male Wrestler of equal age/skill is magical thinking. Girls should be encouraged to Wrestle, and they need their own all girl division. my .02
