I've been chloroformed and I've done it to others. It takes a while, if you can do it you can also just choke somebody out.
t. old enough to have trichloromethane lying around the 6th form chem lab.

"Parecetic acid" should actually be peroxyacetic acid. It is a strong disinfectant. Hospitals use it, and I make it at home all the time.
If you live in Florida and find some manchineel trees on your airboat, you can have a lot of fun with those.
Also, you can make chloral hydrate by keeping the bleach+alcohol solution acidic. I think it's acidic. Consumer bleaches are alkaline normally.

You probably can't gas yourself with it because even the tiniest whiff of that shit will drive you through the nearest opening you can find. It's god awful nasty shit, chloramine is only about 25% as bad and it's the stuff people make that clears out department stores. If you ever wanna disperse a riot, mix some chlorine up and push it around in a mop bucket near the crowd. Just keep a bottle of UNOPENED hypochlorite and muriatic acid in your car/truck for emergencies.

OH, don't make chlorine unless you have a respirator mask rated for chlorine. You'll still have eye irritation unless you have good goggles. But man will you disperse a crowd. The major use of chlorine in WW1 wasn't to kill, it was to disperse enemy entrenchment and break foxhole lines by dispersing the enemy. Basically ultra-powerful tear gas.

Chlorine strips free electrons off of the lining of your lungs, causing chemical burns. Not fun. >>513845150 >It's mustard gas
Mustard gas is worse because it works on skin contact, causing boils. A gas mask will save you from chlorine gas. Mustard gas? Not so much.

Yeah. It's a just a trope. Same with the whole severe head trauma to the back of the skull never causing a fatal brain hemorrhage or anything like that and it being completely harmless beyond making someone take a perfectly timed nap for however long the plot needs for everyone to do what they need to do and be where they need to be thing. Old time radio detective show were particularly bad with that one. A little drain bamage never hurt anyone, left?
Anyone have the one where the /k/ommando tried to test his new gas mask and ended up killing himself with chlorine gas? Spilled the mixture on himself too and the skin was sloughing off from the chemical burns in real time. RIP to a real one.

Want a sample of it? Pour bleach in your toilet bowl and clean it. Take your brush, scrub it, all that jazz then let it sit. Come back later and pee in it. It's not strong enough to do anything but it will get your attention, especially if you don't drink enough water.
